“The non-profit Copyright Clearance Center announced this week that is has launched an Open Access Resource Center in partnership with the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP). ... CCC officials say the new web-based resource center will include a variety of information, including “links to the latest open access news, reports, whitepapers, webinars and Web sites.” Users can also complete a feedback survey to add suggestions for what they would like to see included going forward. Roy Kaufman, managing director of New Ventures, CCC, said the resource center “aims to be a comprehensive resource for all things open access.”This blogger notes that the resource centre is not solely US-centric and that its scope includes materials from the UK and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (just one item so far) and the Pacific Rim. It may be worth paying a visit from time to time, to see what's there.
In 1709 (or was it 1710?) the Statute of Anne created the first purpose-built copyright law. This blog, founded just 300 short and unextended years later, is dedicated to all things copyright, warts and all.
